Right product, right place, right time.
If this is the definition of “Precision agriculture”, then I think that basically all agricultural researchers are working on this. I mean, no one is trying to work out what is the wrong product, or wrong place, or wrong time. Well, maybe some, but even then it is so it can ultimately be “right, right, right”.
If this above observation is correct, then it is highly unlikely that this is the first time it has been made and/or expressed. It is also a suggestion that “Precision ag” needs to amend the definition to something like “Enabling right product, right place, right time {by using digital and modern technologies to increase the spatial resolution of decisions and actions}”. This is all based on the assumption that “Precision agriculture” is understood to be that part of agriculture that uses prescription files and variable rate technology.
