Dynamic tests are of value given they more accurately simulate the actual conditions under which sugar beet most often experience the mechanical forces that lead to mechanical damage: an impact.

The major draw-back with dynamic tests is that they are more difficult. They often require measurement at a very high resolution (eg 1/ 10 000 of a second).
